Go up through the attic hatch of a house here and you may well not find a big rectangular trunk with branches coming off it at intervals. What you find instead is one boxed plenum sitting over the air handler with eight or ten flexible runs fanning out of it in every direction, each going to a single register and stopping there. It is a legitimate way to lay out a duct system and it is very common in Florida houses on slab. It also behaves differently from a trunk. There is no shared spine for material to travel along, so whatever a branch picks up stays in that branch, and the branches do not influence each other the way sections of a trunk do. Every run is its own small closed system with one register at the end of it.
A layout like that puts enormous weight on how the flexible duct was installed, because in a house built this way the flexible duct is the whole distribution. Flexible duct is meant to go in pulled taut, cut to the length it actually needs, and supported at intervals so it holds a line. What happens when a house goes up quickly is that a run comes off the roll longer than required, the surplus gets looped or left in a lazy curve, and support lands wherever a strap happened to land. The result is a fifteen-foot journey made in twenty-five feet of duct with a belly hanging in the middle of it. Air slows at every sag, and what air lets go of when it slows is precisely what a duct cleaning gets called out for. Clearing takes the material out. It does not take the extra twenty feet out.

Air Duct Cleaning in Boynton Beach — FAQs
What Boynton Beach homeowners ask us about air duct cleaning.
What sets us apart
Every Supply and Return Line, Not Just the Vent Covers
Wiping a register cover makes the vent look better and changes nothing about the air coming through it. We clean the system behind it — every supply and return line, one at a time — with a high-powered negative-air vacuum that has HEPA filtration, so the dust and debris we dislodge get carried out of the house instead of scattered back into your rooms. Sanitization and vent-cover cleaning are there as add-ons, and we tell you what each one actually does before you decide.
