A dryer has to put its exhaust somewhere, and on a narrow Miami lot the choice of wall gets made for you. Zero-lot-line houses and duplexes end up venting into a side yard a few feet wide with a fence or the next building directly opposite. Lint that would drift off and vanish on an open lot has nowhere to go in a gap like that. It settles back onto the hood, onto the flap, and onto the wall around the opening. The pale gray film people notice on the wall beside a vent is the same lint, arriving back where it started.

Tight lots also put the hood where people walk. In a lot of Miami houses and small buildings the only wall available faces the path to the front door, the strip beside the driveway, or the few square feet of paved outdoor space the household actually uses. A vent in that position takes knocks. A flap bent by a trash can, a bicycle or a gate does not come back into line on its own, and once it stops closing the run is open to whatever wants in. Confirming airflow at the outside end and checking that the flap still swings freely is part of the job here for exactly that reason.

Dryer Vent Cleaning in Miami — FAQs

What Miami homeowners ask us about dryer vent cleaning.

More than it looks like it should. A hood discharging into a narrow side yard is pushing warm, damp, lint-carrying air into a space with no air moving through it, so most of what leaves settles within a few feet and some of it comes straight back. You will see it as a gray film on the hood, on the wall and on the fence opposite. The flap suffers first, because matted lint at the hinge either holds it open or holds it shut, and a flap stuck shut does what a blocked duct does. Clearing the line and the termination buys the airflow back. Where the hood is badly placed to begin with, moving it is a repair, not something a cleaning solves.

What sets us apart

The Whole Line, From the Dryer to the Outside Wall

Most of the lint that causes trouble is nowhere near the back of the dryer. We clean the complete vent path — from the dryer connection out to the exterior termination, not just the accessible first few feet — then confirm airflow at the outside vent and check that the flap opens the way it should. If the line turns out to be damaged rather than dirty, we show you: a crushed duct or a hood that no longer closes is a repair, and no amount of cleaning fixes it.

How it works

Our 4-Step Dryer Vent Cleaning Process

1

Inspection

We trace the run from the dryer connection out to the exterior termination, so we know how long it is and where the lint has packed.

2

Line Cleaning

We work the complete vent path, not just the few feet you can reach behind the appliance, breaking up the lint compacted against the duct wall.

3

Lint Removal

The lint and any blockages come out of the line and leave with us, rather than being pushed further along the run.

4

Airflow Check

We confirm airflow at the exterior vent and check that the flap opens properly, so the dryer runs cooler and dries in one cycle.

Our results

The Lint That Was in the Line

Dryer vent cleaning pulls the packed lint out of the vent line behind your dryer. That lint is what makes a dryer run hot and take two cycles to dry a load — and it is the reason a clogged vent is a fire risk. Every one of these came out of a South Florida home.
