A dryer under a carport or in an open-sided utility room has one advantage and several disadvantages. The advantage is a short run, sometimes no more than a punch through the wall the dryer backs onto. The disadvantages are that every part of the installation lives in outdoor air. The transition behind the machine is usually flexible foil instead of rigid metal, and foil in a hot, humid, open space goes brittle and splits. The machine sits in that humidity all day, which is hard on it. And since it is a short run at high pressure, people assume it cannot block, which is how it goes years without anyone looking at it.
The hoods on these installations sit low, often at knee height on a side or rear wall a step from the driveway or the yard. That puts them where grass clippings, mulch, leaf litter and dust off the drive all end up, and a flap with clippings packed behind it neither closes nor opens properly. It is also within reach of a pressure washer, and a hood that has been sprayed straight into is a hood full of wet lint. Clearing the outside end and confirming that the flap swings freely on nothing more than the dryer's own airflow is part of the job, and on a low hood it is the part that matters most.

Dryer Vent Cleaning in Hialeah — FAQs
What Hialeah homeowners ask us about dryer vent cleaning.
What sets us apart
The Whole Line, From the Dryer to the Outside Wall
Most of the lint that causes trouble is nowhere near the back of the dryer. We clean the complete vent path — from the dryer connection out to the exterior termination, not just the accessible first few feet — then confirm airflow at the outside vent and check that the flap opens the way it should. If the line turns out to be damaged rather than dirty, we show you: a crushed duct or a hood that no longer closes is a repair, and no amount of cleaning fixes it.

The Lint That Was in the Line
Dryer vent cleaning pulls the packed lint out of the vent line behind your dryer. That lint is what makes a dryer run hot and take two cycles to dry a load — and it is the reason a clogged vent is a fire risk. Every one of these came out of a South Florida home.
